The Queens library is located off of 55th street on Skillman Ave. They have free access to print, audio-visual, and electronic resources based on the community needs. They provide resources in different languages which include: English, Spanish, French, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Bengali, Hindi, and more. The Woodside community library has 16 computers. The computers have free internet access, and limited free printing. The library also has live homework help online. This library wasn't built until 1908. On June 19th, 1910, the library opened. One of the first librarians was Anna Burns. The library was housed on the first floor of a two story frame building, on the corner of Roosevelt Avenue but, was moved in 1932 to Skillman Ave. During World War 1, the library served as a community action center. The library was updated in 1999, improving access for people with disabilities. The library represents the different groups of immigrants which are Chinese, Ecuadorians, Koreans, Columbians, Bangladesh, Fillipinos, Asians, Indians, Peruvians, and more. There is street parking available. The Queens Library is an independent library.
